Speechify is seeking a Windows desktop engineer to architect and build native desktop apps across Windows platforms using Windows App SDK and WinUI. You will work with C#, XAML, and possibly C++ to deliver reliable, high-performance software focused on accessibility and cross-version compatibility.

The role emphasizes ownership of features end-to-end, collaboration with design, QA, and product teams, and mentoring others on architectural decisions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Windows desktop application development using Windows App SDK, WinUI (or similar), C#, XAML — and ideally experience with native Windows code (C++, Win32/WinRT/COM).
• Deep understanding of Windows application architecture, including interop between managed code (.NET) and native code.
• Proven track record of designing, building, and shipping production-quality desktop applications with reliability, performance, and maintainability.
• Strong experience with accessibility APIs on Windows and building accessible software.
• Excellent software engineering fundamentals: OOP, design patterns, data structures, algorithms, memory management, multi-threading or async programming.
• Experience leading technical design, mentoring engineers, code reviews, and architecture decisions.

Responsabilités

• Lead the design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop applications using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, XAML, and C++ when needed.
• Define and enforce best-practices for Windows desktop development across the codebase.
• Drive accessibility efforts: ensure UI controls, focus management, keyboard navigation, and screen-reader support.
• Collaborate with product designers, UX researchers, QA, and stakeholders to shape feature planning and long-term roadmap.
• Take ownership of full lifecycle of features from conception to release and maintenance.
• Identify and resolve complex bugs, performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, or compatibility problems.
