EMW in Belgium seeks a Principal Solution Engineer to lead architecture development for complex solutions, align with requirements, and manage cross-project trade-offs in a NATO‑security context.

The role requires active NATO SECRET clearance, a relevant Master’s degree or equivalent with substantial post‑related experience, and strong MBSE/architecture modelling skills for defence networks.

Qualifications

• Active NATO SECRET clearance.
• Master's degree with 5+ years post-related experience, or Bachelor's with 8+ years.
• Proven experience leading technical teams.
• Knowledge of current/future Mobile Infrastructure technologies and trends.
• Experience with design and systems integration (AC power, UPS, etc.).
• Strong understanding of current wireless technologies and trends (SATCOM).
• Experience with architecture modelling languages (UML/SysML/ArchiMate) and MBSE.
• Experience applying quality assurance practices.
• Experience in development/maintenance of modern communications equipment.
• ITIL Foundation; PRINCE2 Foundation or PMP.
• Desirable: NATO Architecture Framework v4; FMN in service design; international environment experience; TOGAF/ArchiMate certifications.

Responsabilités

• Leads the development of architectures for complex solutions ensuring alignment with requirements.
• Establishes policies, principles and practices for selecting architecture components.
• Manages trade-offs and balances requirements within a significant organizational area.
• Communicates proposed decisions to stakeholders.
• Coordinates and manages the target architecture across multiple projects.
• Maintains a stable architecture and adheres to standards across projects.
• Plans and drives scoping, requirements definition and prioritisation for large initiatives.
• Obtains input from diverse stakeholders and negotiates priorities.
• Sets policy for systems development and ensures security/privacy integration.
• Ensures resources for all stages of systems development.
• Specifies network design parameters and risks; creates multiple design views.
