A leading technology firm is seeking a Senior Solution Architect for its Brussels office (hybrid). This role involves leading integration architecture, particularly focusing on IT/OT integration within industrial logistics. Candidates should have substantial experience in solution architecture and be familiar with logistics and operational technology environments. The position is open to both freelance and permanent employment options.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience in solution or integration architecture.
• Proven experience in industrial automation, logistics, or operational technology.
• Experience designing integration architectures between operational equipment and IT.
• Experience with real-time integration patterns, latency management, timeouts, and failover design.
• Exposure to event streaming architectures as a target state for OT/IT integration.

Responsabilités

• Lead integration architecture for IT/OT environments.
• Develop formal functional specification documents for projects.
• Manage real-time communication patterns and security.
• Apply DevSecOps concepts and secure development in mixed IT/OT environments.
• Evaluate and select technologies for real-time data exchange (MQTT/AMQP/Kafka).

Descripton/Profile

IT/OT Integration — Industrial Logistics

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Solution Architect to lead integration architecture

• IT/OT Boundary & Security
• Documentation & Best Practices
• Several years of experience in solution or integration architecture, with proven experience in industrial automation, logistics, or operational technology environments
• Proven experience designing integration architectures between operational equipment and IT or cloud backend systems
• Experience with real-time integration patterns — synchronous and asynchronous communication, latency management, timeout handling, and failover design
• Experience with event-driven architecture principles and technologies such as MQTT, AMQP, or Kafka is a plus
• Experience in logistics, parcel operations, or supply chain environments is a strong plus
• Experience producing formal functional specification documents for industrial automation or integration projects
• Exposure to DevSecOps practices and secure development in mixed IT/OT environments
• Familiarity with event streaming architectures as a target state for operational event distribution
