Job summary

Cochlear is seeking a Senior Software Verification Engineer who combines software quality focus with automation and technical excellence. You will lead verification from concept to release, shaping strategy for complex features and collaborating with software, product, DevOps and quality teams.

You will design automated tests using C++, C#, Python and PowerShell, help evolve frameworks, drive CI/CD integration and mentor peers while influencing release readiness and product risk decisions.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in software verification and quality engineering.
• Strong background in test automation and framework development.
• Experience with C++ and/or C# and understanding production software.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell.
• Experience designing and executing complex software verification activities.
• Experience working with CI/CD environments.

What you will do

As a Senior Software Verification Engineer , you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality of innovative software products from concept through to release.

• Shape the verification strategy for complex software features, releases and product areas.

• Challenge requirements early to ensure they are clear, testable and aligned to customer needs.
• Investigate complex defects, system behaviours and quality risks.

• Use your expertise to influence release readiness decisions and product risk management.

• Significant experience in software verification and quality engineering.
• A strong background in test automation and automated framework development.
• Experience with C++ and/or C# and the ability to understand production software.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell.
• Experience designing and executing complex software verification activities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly when investigating defects and system failures.
• Experience working with CI/CD environments and modern software development practices.
• The ability to guide technical discussions and influence outcomes across multidisciplinary teams.
• Master's or PhD degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline (or equivalent). For candidates with degrees obtained outside Belgium, a formal recognition process may be required as part of the hiring journey. Support will be provided.
