VITO invites a Senior Software Engineer to evolve our operational EO services and transform R&D prototypes into robust production components. You will build efficient EO processing workflows and create scalable microservices with strong API design.

You will work within an agile, international team using Python, Docker/Kubernetes, and AI-driven coding tools to boost quality and velocity, supporting public authorities and research partners.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.

Responsabilités

• Develop efficient services, algorithms and data processing workflows for EO satellite products.
• Translate prototypes and proof-of-concept work into robust, production-grade components.
• Deliver clean, maintainable, well-documented code, primarily in Python.
• Implement microservices and APIs that integrate with processing platforms.
• Take shared responsibility for operational services including incident analysis, performance optimisations and reliability improvements.
• Use AI-assisted coding tools to improve efficiency and code quality.
• Ensure solid automated test coverage (unit, integration, regression).
• Collaborate with architects, product owners and EO experts to refine requirements and designs.
• Provide 3rd-line support for customer issues and service anomalies.
• Contribute to team-wide decisions on architecture, tools, and coding standards.
