Job summary

Asenium Consulting in Brussels invites a Senior Security Consultant to strengthen a security team in a financial services environment. You will oversee security in business projects, challenge controls, and coordinate NIST evidence and maturity reporting.

The role is hybrid in Brussels with 50% on-site and 50% homeworking, ASAP until 31 December 2026, requiring strong IT security expertise and ability to work across teams.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in IT production or networks.
• Software development experience and understanding of SDLC.
• Knowledge of network security fundamentals.
• Familiar with NIST and ISO 27001 security frameworks.
• Foundational knowledge of IT risk assessment and management.
• ISO 27001 certification or equivalent.
• Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree with experience.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaborate across teams.
• Fluent French or Dutch and good English.

Responsibilities

• Oversee security in business projects and challenge implemented controls.
• Coordinate NIST evidence and maturity reporting.
• Ensure security requirements are integrated early into initiatives.
• Complete and review application security assessments with delivery teams.
• Assess change compliance and support release decisions.
• Coordinate with SMEs to collect evidence for NIST controls.
• Submit NIST control evidence to the central security team.
• Negotiate evidence acceptance criteria with the central team.
• Report progress on NIST controls and elevate IT management issues.
