Ensuring rigorous QA/QC management on a large‑scale power generation construction project is critical, since gaps in documentation control, vendor dossier review, or punch item closeout could delay mechanical completion, compromise contractual compliance, and jeopardize the handover to operations.
Job Description
We therefore invite you to collaborate with AETHER as a senior QA/QC engineer. As one of our Project Partners, your objective is to support the quality assurance and quality control management of a new combined cycle power plant construction project, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 10005 guidelines and the project quality management plan.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that the quality management meets legal and regulatory requirements and achieves all required certifications.
- Ensure that the quality management meets stakeholders operational performance requirements.
- Ensure that the quality management meets minimum contractual requirements as described in the EPC contract, tolling agreement and any other project agreement.
- Ensure that the quality management captures the quality requirements of industry good practice and ease of use.
- In the absence of the QA/QC manager, be responsible for all QA/QC topics of the project, with the support of the quality team and the technical documentation manager, reporting directly to the project control manager.
- Apply at each stage of the project the rules, associated procedures and templates to ensure that QA/QC is performed in alignment with the project requirements.
- Ensure that all required vendor documentation and certifications are obtained, follow up and control the vendor dossiers, review, comment and approve the vendor final dossiers.
- Ensure that procedures for opening, recording, tracking and closeout of all issues, observations, technical queries or nonconformances are applied.
- Report any major deviation, questions or issues to the QA/QC manager, and report appropriately to the project management team to ensure that main deviations are recorded and addressed by the EPC contractor or, at minimum, formally notified.
- In case of design changes or change requests arising from the contractors, make sure that engineering deliverables are consistent with the contractual requirements and properly approved by engineering prior to implementation.
- Lead the mechanical completion process, organize walk‑downs, identify outstanding punch items, lead quality meetings with the contractor, and manage KPIs for quality activity.
- Review the final documentation structure, be in charge of the project final dossiers: review, comments and acceptance.
- Together with the QA/QC manager, organize the project handover to the future operation and maintenance team.
- Cooperate closely with all members of the project team to safeguard optimal quality management and ensure good documentation and technical communication management.
Profile
- Minimum 10 years of QA/QC experience or similar.
- Fluent in English and French.
- Know‑how and experience on site in combined cycle construction projects.
- International projects experience.
- Good knowledge of MS Office and IT systems (Excel, etc.).
- Good know‑how of different quality certifications (CE, PED, ATEX, etc.).
- Hands‑on, dynamic and positive team player.
- Availability to work on site in Seraing, Belgium.
- Entrepreneurial experience or ambition is a plus (extra‑professional or extra‑academic).
- Fast availability is preferred.
- Valid single permit for non‑EU citizens.
