KEYES is seeking a Backend Software Engineer (Python) to join an EU institution in Brussels on a long-term mission. You will develop backend services, APIs, and scalable data platforms, ensuring security and performance. Onsite presence is required within two hours of Brussels.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, translate business requirements into technical specs, and contribute to CI/CD and cloud deployments using IaC tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree with required years of experience (see above).
• Proven experience in Python web frameworks and REST APIs.
• Fluent English spoken and written (B2 minimum).
• Strong knowledge of ORM and database design (SQL/NoSQL).
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Awareness of secure coding practices and DevSecOps tooling.

Responsabilités

• Architect server-side components and services using Python.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs for frontend-backend integration.
• Design and optimise database schemas and queries.
• Ensure database security and data privacy compliance.
• Improve performance by profiling and tuning server and DB code.
• Lead CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments with IaC.
• Review code and address security vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with frontend, product, and design teams.
• Create technical documentation and translate business needs into specs.
