Fujitsu in Brussels is seeking a Python Back-End Software Engineer to join an EU Institution project, contributing to robust web apps and back-end services.

You will design server-side components, build REST APIs, design DB schemas, and optimize performance while applying secure coding practices in containerised/cloud environments. You will set up CI/CD pipelines and participate in code reviews and production support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Strong Python programming skills and experience with Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
• Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
• Knowledge of code quality tools such as Pylint, Black, and Flake8.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, MongoDB).
• Strong understanding of ORM, database schema design, and query optimisation.
• Experience with Docker, Podman, and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices, vulnerability scanning, authentication, authorisation, and encryption.
• Familiarity with Git or SVN.

What are we looking for?

• Knowledge of configuration management tools such as Ansible.


• Experience with Linux and virtual machine management.


• Familiarity with AI-powered coding assistants, such as GitHub Copilot or Amazon Kiro.

Nice to have:

Knowledge of the European Commission’s grant management ecosystem, particularly eGrants.

• EU citizenship is mandatory.


• Relocation to Brussels is required.


• The role follows a near-site working model.
