Contact One Communications, Inc. seeks an experienced Database Administrator with active NATO SECRET clearance to manage PostgreSQL and MySQL environments. You will handle installation, upgrades, backups, replication, and performance tuning across DEV/UAT/PROD, ensuring security and least-privilege access.

Applicants should have 5+ years in at least one DB and 2+ in the other, plus strong Linux and scripting skills. Hybrid role with emphasis on secure, scalable DB operations.

Qualifications

• The candidate must hold an active NATO SECRET clearance.
• 5+ years hands-on experience with at least one DB tech (MySQL or PostgreSQL) and 2+ years with the other.
• Strong knowledge of MySQL architecture, InnoDB storage, backups and recovery.
• Deep PostgreSQL internals, autovacuum, and WAL/archiving expertise.
• Proficient in SQL optimization, indexing and execution plans.
• Proven Linux administration skills relevant to database performance.
• Automation mindset with Bash/Python/Perl scripting.

Responsabilités

• Install, configure, maintain and upgrade PostgreSQL 12+ and MySQL 8.0+.
• Perform routine maintenance, schema housekeeping, index maintenance, and data retention.
• Manage users, roles, privileges, and authentication per least-privilege.
• Forecast storage growth and plan partitions/archiving.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues including data corruption and replication failures.
• Ensure DEV/UAT/PROD environment consistency; perform RCA for incidents.
• Coordinate with application and infrastructure teams.
