Cloud Power Luxembourg is seeking a Database Architect for a long-term strategic project in Belgium. You will migrate a large-scale database from Sybase ASE to PostgreSQL, ensure data integrity, and optimize performance.

The role requires senior expertise in PostgreSQL, Linux scripting, and experience with complex migrations. The project focuses on the Clinical Workstation used by 130,000+ healthcare professionals across Belgium. Hybrid onsite work in Leuven 1 day/week is possible.

Qualifications

• Senior Database Architect or Senior DBA experience
• Strong PostgreSQL expertise
• Experience with large-scale migrations and legacy systems
• Linux/Unix scripting knowledge (Shell)

Responsabilités

• Design the target PostgreSQL architecture with focus on performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Translate Sybase T-SQL patterns to PostgreSQL and optimize queries.
• Implement indexing, partitioning and tuning for migration efficiency.
• Build data validation and quality controls to ensure data integrity during migration.
• Support migration strategy and act as PostgreSQL SME for the team.
• Develop automation for database administration and monitoring.
• Provide support for the existing Sybase environment during migration.
