Thema Foundries is seeking a Senior Photonic Design Engineer to design, simulate, and optimize integrated photonic circuits and lasers for advanced semiconductor applications. You will translate system requirements into robust photonic designs and collaborate across design, process, test, and product teams in a fast-paced foundry environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Photonics or related field.
• 5+ years in integrated photonics design.
• Experience with photonic device design and simulation tools (Lumerical, PhotonDesign, COMSOL).
• Understanding of III-V semiconductor lasers and photonic circuits platforms.
• Strong analytical and data-driven approach; team oriented.

Responsabilités

• Design and optimize III-V devices, including SOAs and laser sources.
• Develop misalignment-tolerant coupling structures and mode transformers.
• Model, simulate, and validate device performance optically, electrically, and thermally.
• Develop design rules, PDKs, and compact models for active blocks.
• Analyze characterization data to improve design, fabrication, and yield.
• Support productization and document designs for reliability.
