Cross International in Ghent, Belgium, is seeking an experienced reliability specialist to shape the testing strategy for laser and photonic ICs used in data-center interconnects. You will define failure mechanisms, drive risk mitigation and determine which tests should be built internally or sourced externally.

The role requires hands-on testing, collaboration with external labs, and interaction with future customers and hyperscalers to translate requirements into robust device specifications

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; PhD is a plus.
• At least three years of industrial experience in photonic IC and/or laser reliability testing.
• Hands-on testing experience with lasers, PICs and related reliability methods.
• Familiarity with JEDEC and Telcordia standards and industrial testing environments.

Responsabilités

• Define strategy to meet product specifications and reliability standards.
• Identify failure mechanisms in lasers and photonic ICs operating at high optical power.
• Develop risk-mitigation approaches and testing methods.
• Contribute to laser, PIC and integration-flow design decisions based on reliability insights.
• Define testing capabilities to build internally, purchase or outsource.
• Design and help build characterization and reliability setups.
• Manage collaborations with external reliability laboratories and test service providers.
• Interact with future customers including device manufacturers and hyperscalers.
• Translate customer requirements into device specifications and test campaigns.
• Develop pragmatic test cycles enabling fast learning and continual design improvement.
• Contribute hands-on to laser and PIC testing across development and manufacturing stages.
• Build databases, documentation and reporting for product performance monitoring.
