Zusammenfassung

AMOS, located in Liège, Belgium, seeks a Senior Opto-Mechanical Engineer to lead design, integration and validation of VHR‑payload optics. You will size materials, justify against launch loads and guide assembly tooling for alignment and metrology in a space environment.

You will mentor junior engineers, review designs and contribute to reusable building blocks for the product line, working closely with the Optical Payload Architect.

Qualifikationen

• Master's degree in Electromechanical, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 8+ years' experience in opto-mechanical or precision mechanical design.
• Experience in the space field is required.
• Knowledge of ECSS standards.
• CAD software knowledge (CATIA V5 or NX).
• Familiar with FEM (Nastran or SAMCEF) in SIMCENTER environment.
• Familiar with precision metrology (interferometry, CMM, laser tracker) and clean room practice.
• Be creative and proactive; team-oriented; able to defend technical choices.
• Able to review others' work and mentor junior engineers.
• Strong adaptability and learning skills; English min. B1.

Aufgaben

• Understand and analyse the opto-mechanical requirements and ensure they are met in design.
• Design opto-mechanical assemblies: mirrors mounts; metering structures; focal plane interfaces; baffles; mechanisms.
• Size and select materials and components (SiC, Zerodur, ULE, CFRP, Invar).
• Justify design against launch loads, thermal gradients and gravity release; support STOP analyses.
• Define alignment concept; specify integration tooling and metrology.
• Draft specifications and follow up subcontractors; oversee manufacturing of critical parts.
• Lead integration, alignment and validation of the opto-mechanical part; support environmental tests.
• Contribute to modular VHR product line; review junior engineers and share design rules.
• Produce technical documentation.
