Job summary

Ball Corporation in Genk, Belgium, seeks a Mechanical Supervisor to lead the plant's mechanical team and oversee maintenance across high-speed can making lines and ancillaries. The role drives operational excellence, safety, and energy-saving initiatives, with hands-on responsibility for TPM and capital projects.

The successful candidate will manage preventive maintenance, spares, and training for new joiners while coordinating with suppliers and ensuring cost control within budget.

Qualifications

• 7+ years relevant experience in maintenance in high-speed manufacturing with sound maintenance management practices.
• Experience in mechanical power presses, hydraulic equipment maintenance, printing press, handling LPG, maintenance of gas-fired ovens, boilers etc.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD - Mechanical.

Responsibilities

• Drive the Preventive Maintenance program (periodical, monthly & daily) for plant process equipment and auxiliaries.
• Plan daily maintenance activities and schedule; attend morning meetings with key stakeholders.
• Plan for shutdowns including securing spare parts; execute shutdown maintenance and verify effectiveness after startup.
• Review spare parts and upgrade equipment; liaise with foreign suppliers for tooling/spare parts; maintain inventory.
• Interpret machine manuals and drawings for maintenance planning and spare parts.
• Lead the process team; apply Lean tools (fishbone, why-why); coordinate with sector engineering to resolve issues.
• Support engineering manager in budget preparation for capital projects and maintenance; execute projects to completion.
• Control maintenance costs; implement cost-reduction initiatives; reduce energy consumption.
