Cochlear is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the development of active hearing implant technologies, surgical instruments, and packaging from concept to first-in-human studies. You will design, verify, and document complex electro‑mechanical components and collaborate with surgeons and experts across R&D to ensure safety, manufacturability, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in product design and development using 3D CAD tools.
• Minimum 5 years’ hands-on experience in prototyping, testing, verification, and validation.
• Fluent English communication (written and verbal).

Responsabilités

• Lead design and development of electro‑mechanical components for active hearing implant systems.
• Translate user, clinical, manufacturing, and regulatory needs into robust engineering requirements.
• Define, develop, and evaluate innovative concepts to solve mechanical and surgical problems.
• Collaborate with surgeons to optimize usability and performance.
• Coordinate prototyping and supplier activities for rapid product development.
• Develop and execute verification and validation strategies and test plans.
