Johnson & Johnson Geel site seeks a Senior Maintenance Engineer Projects to drive asset lifecycle management, maintenance integration into engineering and capital projects, and stakeholder management from concept to commissioning.

You will join Geel GET Maintenance & Reliability team at our API manufacturing site, supporting reliable production of medicines, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient operations across projects.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance, project engineering, asset management or reliability engineering.
• Experience in GMP-regulated manufacturing is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance processes and asset lifecycle management.

Responsabilités

• Act as Maintenance & Reliability representative within multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring maintenance requirements and reliability principles are integrated throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review engineering designs and project deliverables to ensure maintainability, reliability, spare parts strategy, and total cost of ownership considerations.
• Challenge project teams to align solutions with maintenance standards and GMP requirements.
• Support capital and improvement projects from concept through commissioning and handover, including maintenance plans and CMMS readiness.
• Define and implement maintenance strategies for new and modified assets, including preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Coordinate maintenance readiness for new installations, ensuring documentation, procedures and spare parts are in place before startup.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, EHS and external contractors for successful project delivery.
• Drive continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and updating engineering standards.

Senior Maintenance Engineer Projects

Are you an experienced Maintenance Engineer with a passion for project support, asset lifecycle management, and ensuring maintenance requirements are fully integrated into engineering and capital projects? We are looking for a Senior Maintenance Engineer Projects who combines strong technical expertise with stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence project decisions from concept through commissioning.

You will join the Geel GET (Global Engineering & Technology) Maintenance & Reliability team at the Johnson & Johnson site in Geel, Belgium, our largest manufacturing site for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs). We support the reliable production of innovative, life-saving medicines for patients around the world. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Act as the Maintenance & Reliability representative within multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring that maintenance requirements, reliability principles, asset lifecycle considerations, and operational needs are integrated throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review engineering designs, technical specifications, and project deliverables to ensure maintainability, accessibility, reliability, spare part strategy, and total cost of ownership considerations are adequately addressed before implementation.
• Challenge project teams and engineering partners to ensure proposed solutions align with site maintenance standards, reliability objectives, GMP requirements, and long-term asset management strategies.
• Support capital and improvement projects from concept development through commissioning and handover, ensuring all maintenance deliverables are completed, including maintenance plans, spare parts identification, asset hierarchy creation, criticality assessments, and CMMS readiness.
• Define and implement maintenance strategies for new and modified assets, including preventive maintenance programs, predictive maintenance opportunities, and reliability improvements.
• Coordinate the maintenance readiness process for new installations, ensuring documentation, procedures, training requirements, spare parts, and maintenance resources are in place before startup.
• Identify risks related to asset reliability, maintainability, and operational support during project execution, and ensure mitigation actions are implemented.
• Collaborate closely with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, EHS, and external contractors to ensure successful project delivery and sustainable asset performance after handover.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by incorporating lessons learned from maintenance activities, equipment failures, and operational experience into future projects and engineering standards.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical qualifications and experience demonstrating a strong foundation in maintenance, engineering, or asset management.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Maintenance Engineering, Project Engineering, Asset Management, Reliability Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Experience in GMP-regulated manufacturing environments is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance processes, asset lifecycle management, equipment design, and reliability principles.
• Experience supporting engineering or capital projects, including design reviews, commissioning, start-up, and operational handover activities.
• Good understanding of maintenance and reliability methodologies such as RCA, FMEA, RCM, and criticality assessments.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to effectively challenge project decisions and advocate for maintenance requirements.
• Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with colleagues in Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and EHS.
