Job summary

Lalamove is seeking a Senior Legal Associate (General Commercial) based in Hong Kong to join its Legal team. You will handle drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a range of contracts and provide strategic legal advice to multiple departments.

The role requires 2–6 years PQE, qualification in Hong Kong or other common law jurisdictions, and strong English/Chinese communication skills. The position offers a dynamic, fast-paced environment with cross-border regulatory exposure.

Qualifications

• 2–6 years’ post-qualification experience in reputable law firms or MNCs.
• Qualified in Hong Kong or other common law jurisdictions or the U.S.
• Experience in general commercial transactions.
• Experience with regulatory practice relating to international businesses.
• Strong attention to detail and presentation skills.
• Fluent in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin).

Responsibilities

• Handle drafting, reviewing, and negotiating legal documents for multiple departments.
• Conduct legal research and advise on regulatory developments affecting operations.
• Provide advice on litigation and commercial issues and support business units.
• Develop and implement legal terms, policies, and guidelines to ensure compliance.

Currently, we are looking for a high-caliber individual to join our Legal team as a Senior Legal Associate (General Commercial) based in Hong Kong.

What you’ll do:

• Handle a range of legal work, including drafting, reviewing legal documents and supporting the contract negotiation process for different departments;
• Conducting legal research and analysis on legal/compliance developments that may impact the group’s operations and recommending appropriate courses of action;
• Advise the company on a wide range of litigation and commercial legal issues, support business units with legal advice;
• Developing and implementing legal T&Cs, policies and guidelines to protect the group’s interests and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations;
• Providing legal training to business stakeholders on key legal issues and best practices;
• Assisting other senior lawyers with different tasks assigned from time to time and effective administration of the Legal Team.

What you’ll need:

• 2-6 years’ post-qualification experience gained from reputable law firms or MNCs.
• Qualified in Hong Kong or other common law jurisdictions or the U.S.
• Experience in general commercial, and commercial transactions.
• Experience in dealing with regulatory practice relating to international businesses
• Exceptional attention to detail and excellent presentation and interpersonal skills with ability to work independently or in a team.
• Strong sense of responsibility and responsiveness.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities and meet deadlines
• Energetic with excellent communication skills in both English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin).
• Able to demonstrate strong commercial awareness.
