Médiane Benelux is seeking a Senior IT System Engineer to support high-availability IT environments used in railway infrastructure. You will manage 2nd line system support, incidents, updates, patches, and contribute to infrastructure security and continuous improvement.

Based in Belgium, you will participate in on-call rotations and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable operations and ongoing improvements in complex IT environments.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in IT infrastructure and system engineering.
• Strong command of Linux (CentOS/RedHat) environments.
• Scripting skills in Bash and/or Python.
• Proven VMware/vSphere/vCenter/vMotion expertise.
• Experience in high-availability production environments.
• Solid networking basics and security awareness.
• Excellent troubleshooting and incident management skills.
• Dutch and French proficiency, plus fluent English.

• Perform testing, debugging, updates and patches.
• Provide 2nd line support and participate in on-call rotations.

Job Description

For one of our clients active in the railway infrastructure sector, we are looking for a Senior IT System Engineer to support high-availability IT environments used in train, tram and metro infrastructure.

Mission

You will provide 2nd line system support, maintain IT infrastructure, manage incidents, perform updates and patches, and contribute to infrastructure security and continuous improvement.

Required Skills

Profile / Requirements :

• Strong experience in IT infrastructure and system engineering.
• Very good knowledge of Linux CentOS / RedHat.
• Scripting skills: Bash and/or Python.
• Very good knowledge of VMware, vSphere, vCenter, vMotion.
• Experience in high-availability production environments.
• Basic network knowledge: router, switch, VPN, firewall.
• Strong troubleshooting and support skills.

Languages

• Dutch and French: must be spoken and understood.
• English: fluent.

Nice to Have

• Veeam, Puppet, Nagios, Elastic Stack / Kibana.
• MySQL / PostgreSQL.
