Job summary

Cronos Europa is seeking a highly experienced Cloud & Interoperability Architect to design, implement and secure complex hybrid cloud information systems for a European institution.

You will lead architecture design, build Java microservices, REST APIs and integration services while ensuring scalable, compliant solutions across on‑prem and cloud environments. This role requires strong documentation skills and hands‑on architectural delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering or another relevant technical discipline.
• 15+ years IT experience with a Master’s degree, or 17 years with a Bachelor’s degree.
• 5+ years of experience in application and cloud architecture projects.
• 10+ years of experience in application design and business process analysis.
• 5+ years of professional experience with Java and Hibernate.
• 5+ years of experience designing and integrating REST APIs.
• 5+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines using Maven, Bamboo and GitLab CI.
• 5+ years of experience with Git and GitLab workflows, including branching and merge requests.
• 5+ years of experience with JPA, Spring Security and Spring Boot.
• Strong experience producing architecture and technical design documentation.
• English language proficiency at C1 level or above.

Responsibilities

• Define the architecture and technical design of complex information systems.
• Design and develop components, reusable blocks and microservices.
• Review architectures and assess integration with other systems.
• Design secure, scalable interoperability solutions across organisations.
• Implement architectures across hybrid cloud and on‑premises environments.
• Develop REST APIs and integration services.
• Contribute to web front‑end design and maintenance.
• Design and maintain multi‑tier database layers.
• Perform data modelling and physical database design.
• Develop and maintain stored procedures and database tooling.
• Configure, optimise and integrate databases with apps.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Produce architecture documents and technical reports.
• Participate in working groups and planning sessions.
• Support adoption of AI‑assisted development tools.
