Cronos Europa seeks an experienced Cloud & Interoperability Architect to join a long-term European institution project. You will design secure, scalable information systems in a hybrid cloud environment and work on application development, system integration and technical documentation.

You will use Java-based microservices, Angular front-ends, Oracle databases and AWS services, implementing DevSecOps practices and ensuring interoperability across organisations.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant technical field.
• 15+ years IT experience with a Master’s, or 17 years with a Bachelor’s.
• 5+ years in application and cloud architecture projects.
• 10+ years in application design and business process analysis.
• 5+ years with Java and Hibernate.
• 5+ years designing and integrating REST APIs.
• 5+ years CI/CD pipelines using Maven, Bamboo and GitLab CI.
• 5+ years Git and GitLab workflows, incl. branches and merge requests.
• 5+ years with JPA, Spring Security and Spring Boot.
• Strong in architecture and technical design documentation.
• English proficiency at C1 level or above.

Your Responsibilities

• Define the architecture and technical design of complex information systems.
• Design and develop application components, reusable building blocks and microservices.
• Review existing system architectures and assess their integration with other information systems.
• Design secure and scalable interoperability solutions connecting systems managed by different organisations.
• Implement technical architectures across hybrid cloud and on-premises environments.
• Design, develop and maintain REST APIs and integration services.
• Contribute to the design and maintenance of web application front-end layers.
• Design and maintain database layers for multi-tier applications.
• Perform data analysis, data modelling and physical database design.
• Develop and maintain database stored procedures.
• Configure, optimise and integrate databases with enterprise applications.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.Produce software architecture documents and other technical documentation.
• Contribute to testing, deployment, evaluation and technical reporting.
• Participate in technical working groups, planning sessions, progress meetings and meetings with users.
• Support the responsible adoption of AI-assisted development tools.

Required Experience and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering or another relevant technical discipline.
• At least 15 years of professional IT experience with a Master’s degree , or 17 years with a Bachelor’s degree .
• At least 5 years of experience in application and cloud architecture projects .
• At least 10 years of experience in application design and business process analysis .
• At least 5 years of professional experience with Java and Hibernate .
• At least 5 years of experience designing and integrating REST APIs .
• At least 5 years of experience with CI/CD pipelines using Maven, Bamboo and GitLab CI .
• At least 5 years of experience with Git and GitLab workflows , including branching and merge requests.
• At least 5 years of experience with JPA, Spring Security and Spring Boot .
• Strong experience producing architecture and technical design documentation.
• English language proficiency at C1 level or above .

• Knowledge of encryption techniques and secure application architecture.
• Experience with Splunk, Logstash or Logback.
• Knowledge of Service-Oriented Architecture and Enterprise Architecture.
• Experience with AI-assisted code analysis or development tools.

Work Arrangement

• Long-term assignment for a European institution.
• Remote work from an EU Member State.
• Occasional on-site presence in Brussels may be required with advance notice.
• Candidates must be available to work during standard Brussels business hours.
• Expected project duration of up to four years.
• Candidates must be able to comply with the security and confidentiality requirements applicable to European institutional environments.
