Allianz Benelux is seeking a senior external communications leader to shape our market narrative in the Benelux. You will drive the external communications strategy, protect and enhance brand reputation, and support business objectives across external channels.

You will build thought leadership, manage high-profile partnerships (e.g., Memorial Van Damme), and coach spokespeople for media interactions, while leading measurement of impact and crisis communications when needed.

Qualifications

• University degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field.
• 8–10+ years of experience in external communications, PR, or corporate affairs.
• Fluency in French, Dutch, and English (written and spoken).

Responsabilités

• Develop an integrated external communications plan for Allianz Benelux, aligned with the overall business strategy
• Work closely with senior management and marketing and value proposition teams to identify PR opportunities and create compelling content
• Manage, shape and execute external PR opportunities
• Build and maintain strong relationships with Belgian and Dutch media
• Develop and coach company spokespeople for media interactions
• Represent Allianz Benelux at external events and manage key stakeholder relationships
• Manage issues and crisis communications, protecting the company's reputation
• Develop and manage the corporate social/digital media strategy to amplify Allianz Benelux's external presence
• Lead measurement and reporting on communications impact (media coverage, share of voice, sentiment analysis)
• Support high-profile sponsorship activations (e.g., Memorial Van Damme) with integrated communications planning

As Allianz Benelux accelerates its market presence in the Benelux, this role is critical to shaping our external narrative, managing high-profile partnerships such as the Memorial Van Damme, and positioning Allianz as a trusted voice in the financial services market in the Benelux.

Role Purpose

Reporting to the Head of Communications, this role is responsible for developing and executing Allianz Benelux's external communications strategy. The focus is on building trust, protecting and enhancing the brand's reputation, and supporting business objectives across all external channels. A key priority is defining our thought leadership positioning — identifying the topics and narratives where Allianz Benelux leads the conversation in the market.

Key Accountabilities

Qualifications, Experience & Competencies

Qualifications

• University degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field
• 8–10+ years of experience in external communications, PR, or corporate affairs
• Fluency in French, Dutch, and English (written and spoken)

Experience

• Proven track record in financial services communications or business journalism
• Established network of journalist contacts in Belgian and/or Dutch business and financial media
• Experience advising senior leadership / C-suite on communications strategy
• Track record of managing crisis or issues communications in a corporate environment
• High level of influencing and persuasion skillsStrong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust across all organizational levels
• Strategic mindset with the ability to translate business goals into communications plans
• Proactive, self-starting approach with strong project management capabilities
