ASM is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join the Corporate Research & Development Team in Leuven, Belgium. You will lead epitaxy process development for Si/SiGe, working with state-of-the-art equipment and collaborating across ASM sites to drive innovations that impact customers and products.

You will conduct experiments, analyze complex data, and transfer knowledge through demonstrations and technical transfers, contributing to the growth of ASM’s advanced semiconductor capabilities.

Qualifications

• PhD in physics, chemistry, chemical engineering or materials science, preferably with a semiconductor-related thesis.
• Experience with epitaxy techniques (RPCVD, MOCVD, MBE) and characterization methods (AFM, XRD, TEM, SIMS, electrical characterization, ellipsometry).
• Knowledge of group IV epitaxy (Si, Ge, SiGe) is a plus.
• Strong understanding of semiconductor physics, processing equipment technology, and/or advanced chemistries.
• Curious mindset, able to synthesize complex information and drive pragmatic solutions.

Responsabilités

• Research, develop and optimize Si/SiGe epitaxy processes using state-of-the-art semiconductor equipment.
• Conduct experiments and analyze data to draw actionable conclusions.
• Develop innovative ideas by staying current with processing applications in semiconductors.
• Collaborate with ASM and customers' R&D teams to define requirements and execute projects and demonstrations.
• Support product transfers to customers through demonstrations, knowledge transfer, and site support as needed.
