Job summary

Panda International in Leuven, Belgium, is seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer to lead micro-electronics development for active implantable medical devices. You will design from concept to prototypes and contribute to wireless power transfer and power management for implanted and external hardware.

The role requires coordinating with mechanical, firmware, quality and regulatory teams, ensuring medical certification documentation and risk analyses, and taking technical ownership from design

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in electronics or electrical engineering.
• Several years of micro-electronics development experience including PCB(A) design.
• Hands-on experience with Class III medical devices, ideally implant development.
• Experience with wireless power transfer and power management.
• Track record coordinating complex high-end product development projects.
• Fluent English; Dutch is a plus.

Senior Electronics Engineer - Active Implantable Medical Devices

About the role

Our client is an engineering and design company in Leuven, Belgium, with a dedicated unit for active implantable medical devices (AIMD), such as neurostimulators and their external peripherals. These are Class III devices: the electronics must be tiny, ultra-low-power and reliable for years inside the human body.

To strengthen this unit, we are looking for a (Senior) Electronics Engineer who combines hands-on micro-electronics design with leading complex, high-end development projects.

What you'll do

• Design and develop micro-electronics for active implants and their peripherals, from concept and schematics to PCB(A) and prototypes
• Develop wireless power transfer and power management circuits for implanted and external devices
• Make sure designs meet medical certification requirements, including the documentation and risk analyses that come with them
• Take the technical lead on complex development projects and coordinate with mechanical, firmware, quality and regulatory colleagues
• Verify and test your designs and support the transfer to production
• Act as a technical point of contact for the client teams you develop for
