Pauwels Consulting is seeking a Senior Digital Platform Architect to define and govern the target architecture for a digital platform spanning mobile, web and APIs. The role ensures scalability, security and maintainability while enabling teams to contribute through consistent integration models.

You will lead architectural governance, explore new technologies, and drive MVP initiatives. Strong experience in API-first, BFF and cloud-based distributed architectures is essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years experience as a Solution Architect, Software Architect, or Platform Architect.
• Experience designing digital platforms across Mobile, Web and APIs.
• Deep knowledge of API-first architectures, REST APIs, lifecycle management and versioning.
• Strong expertise in BFF, modular and component-based architectures.
• Cloud-based and distributed architectures with security-by-design focus.

Our client, a leading organization in the health insurance sector, is looking for a Senior Digital Platform Architect to define and govern the target architecture of their digital platform across mobile, web, and backend layers. The role ensures the platform remains scalable, secure, and maintainable while enabling internal and external teams to contribute through consistent integration models.

• Define and maintain the target architecture across Mobile, Web, and Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) layers.
• Establish architectural principles that support platform scalability, extensibility, and maintainability.
• Design integration patterns and contribution models to ensure consistency across mobile and web layers.
• Provide technical leadership to engineering teams and facilitate architecture governance.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and architectural approaches to identify and mitigate risks.
• Lead architecture spikes, proof-of-concepts, and MVP initiatives to validate technical decisions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and product owners to align platform architecture with business objectives.

• You have 8+ years of experience as a Solution Architect, Software Architect, or Platform Architect.
• You possess experience designing digital platforms and architectures across Mobile, Web, and APIs.
• You bring advanced knowledge of API-first architectures, REST APIs, lifecycle management, and versioning.
• You have strong experience with BFF (Backend-for-Frontend), modular, and component-based architectures.
• You possess deep expertise in cloud-based and distributed architectures.
• You bring strong expertise in security-by-design principles, including OAuth2, OpenID Connect, IAM, and API security.
• You have a proven ability to implement enterprise-grade authorization patterns across web and mobile ecosystems.
• You're experienced in working within Agile environments.
• You possess strategic thinking, strong analytical skills, and the ability to influence stakeholders.
• You are fluent in English with mandatory knowledge of Dutch (or French with a strong knowledge of Dutch).
