Qover in Brussels is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own data finance reporting, prototyping through production, and scale our data architecture. The role emphasizes dbt pipelines, BigQuery data models, and Python-driven data work in an AI-first culture.

You will lead data governance, automated quality checks, and collaborate with the data team to deliver self-serve analytics for stakeholders. Fluent English and 5+ years in SQL and data modeling are required; Dutch is a nice-to-have.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in SQL and complex Data Modeling.
• Proven expertise in dbt and production Python.
• Strong background working with modern cloud platforms and serverless data warehouses (BigQuery highly preferred).
• Solid engineering practices: Git, Bash, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and writing unit/integration tests.
• Pragmatic mindset balancing architectural elegance with speed of execution to hit deadlines.
• High degree of autonomy in dynamic environments with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication skills; fluent in English.

Responsabilités

• Data Financial Reporting & Pipelines: Build, maintain, and optimize dbt data pipelines powering embedded insurance programs.
• Data Governance & Quality Assurance: Implement automated quality checks, anomaly detection, unit tests, and integration testing.
• Technical Leadership & Operations: Partner with the data team to advance data warehouse architecture and promote best practices.
