Senior Data & Analytics Consultant – KEYES

KEYES is a leading IT consultancy in Belgium, focusing on digital transformation through data, AI, and secure cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze, challenge, and structure complex business requirements and advocate solutions to stakeholders.
• Design, implement, validate and own DWH and datamart architectures, acting as technical reference.
• Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines from ingestion to data certification.
• Ensure quality and performance of delivered solutions, applying formal quality rules.
• Lead end‑to‑end delivery from analysis to production and user support.
• Facilitate workshops to gather requirements and design with business and IT teams.
• Translate technical findings into clear, non‑technical recommendations for decision makers.
• Drive the evolution of practices and standards within the competence centre.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Experience

• At least 6 years in BI & Data, with a minimum of 3 years on end‑to‑end DWH projects for direct clients.

Technical Must‑Haves

• Advanced SQL: query tuning, stored procedures, performance troubleshooting in a DWH context.
• ETL/ELT: deep knowledge of transformation concepts and orchestration, with proven experience on at least one tool.
• Data modeling: expert level in Kimball / Star Schema, handling SCDs, and evolving models independently.
• DWH architecture: design end‑to‑end warehouse, select integration patterns, manage layers and data quality at each level.
• Data pipeline construction: build robust ETL flows, optimize loading performance, ensure maintainability, and serve as technical lead.
• Version control with Git: branch management, code reviews, and DataOps practices including CI/CD.
• Data quality: design and implement data quality rules, profiling heterogeneous sources, monitoring anomalies, and reporting.
• Data lifecycle: master source‑to‑consumption lineage, trace transformations, and perform impact analysis for model or source changes.

Technical Nice‑to‑Haves

• Knowledge of Data Vault 2.0 – design hubs, links, satellites, and auditability benefits.
• Experience with a BI/visualization tool (SAP BI, MicroStrategy, Power BI, or equivalent) and report maintenance.
• Automation‑heavy ETL tools (e.g., Wherescape) and understanding of productivity gains.
• Python scripting for pipeline automation, data processing, and quality controls using pandas, SQLAlchemy, pyodbc, etc.
• Functional knowledge of a modern cloud data platform (Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, or equivalent).
• Relevant data certifications (DP‑600, PL‑300, etc.) indicating up‑to‑date platform skills.
• Data governance: PAM of DAMA or equivalent principles, data owner/steward roles, quality & classification policies.
• Experience in the financial or public sector (BeLux) with regulatory reporting, auditability, GDPR, etc.

Functional Must‑Haves

• Structure complex business needs, prioritize use cases, and propose clear trade‑offs between value and feasibility.
• Lead and facilitate workshops, including creating agendas, real‑time delivery, synthesis, and structured outputs.
• Self‑directed management of multiple stakeholders, prioritization, escalation, and timely alignment.
• Translate technical insights to business recommendations and present to non‑technical audiences.
• Active participation in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, backlog management, and iteration grooming.
• Rigorous documentation: functional specifications, technical docs, and user guides.
• Collaborate across teams in a structured client environment.

• Change‑management or user‑adoption experience: communication plans, end‑user training, adoption KPI tracking.
