Deloitte Belgium is seeking a Senior Consultant in M&A Strategy to support mid-to-large corporates and investors in developing growth and value-creation strategies. You will work on financial and operational due diligence, synergies and post-merger integrations, carve-outs, and performance improvements.

In this role you’ll lead data-driven analyses, build client-ready factbooks and present concise insights.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of relevant experience in financial/strategy consulting, corporate finance/M&A, or related fields.
• MBA or Master’s degree in business, economics or finance.
• Strong interest in corporate finance, M&A and data-driven analyses.
• Advanced financial, analytical and synthesis skills.
• Ability to communicate complex issues clearly to clients; proactive and business-curious.
• Team player with pragmatic, hands-on approach and decision-making confidence.
• Fluent in English and Dutch or French.

Deloitte has been involved in most of the key M&A transactions in Belgium in recent years, assisting both private equity and corporate investors in making well-founded investment decisions.

In order to support companies, the M&A Strategy team provides quantitative and qualitative insights on business operations which link directly to transaction financials in multiple areas, from pre- or post- deal optimization opportunities, synergy gains, streamlined business plans with insights on growth potential, to understanding how a business will operate outside of the group after separation.

Our team works side by side with the Transactions Services team in order to help investors make well-informed decisions based on the full financial and operational potential of their target.

As a Senior Consultant M&A Strategy, you will support our clients in their M&A endeavors. You advise medium to large corporations and investors at C-Level with the development and implementation of their growth or value creation strategy.

You will work on topics such as financial and operational due diligence, synergy and business plan reviews ; carve-outs and post-merger integrations ; cost reduction and performance improvement programs.

What Will You Do

• Steering discussions and interviews with management, and collaborating with industry experts to gain deeper insights to support clients;
• Deep-diving on complex financial, operational and market data in order to come to key conclusions which can be presented to the client in a simple way;
• Building data driven (financial) factbooks which facilitate meaningful and fact driven discussions;
• Creating impactful story lines which communicate the outcomes of all analyses in a visual and straightforward ways;
• Managing and coordinating project’s deliverable together with the rest of the team;
• Supporting the management in building client relationships, spotting business opportunities and autonomously engaging with the client when required;
• Building, developing and shaping new service offerings together with the team’s management.

Let's Talk About You

• At least 4 years of relevant experience, preferably in financial/strategy consulting, corporate finance/M&A, performance improvement/cost reduction activities within corporate or consulting environment;
• MBA or a Master's degree in, business, economics or finance;
• Strong interest in corporate finance, M&A and data driven analyses;
• Advanced financial, analytical and synthesis skills;
• Ability to communicate complex issues clearly to the clients, proactive and business curious mindset;
• Team player with a hands-on and pragmatic approach and confidence to make decisions and take action;
• Fluent in English and Dutch or French.
