atbtherapeutics in Ghent is seeking a Scientist in the Cell Team to design, troubleshoot and execute cell-based assays for screening and preclinical evaluation of novel antibody conjugates for autoimmune disease and cancer.

The role requires a PhD and at least 2 years in industry, with experience in multiplex flow cytometry and cell imaging. You will collaborate with discovery and cross-functional teams to advance programs and ensure rigorous data documentation.

Qualifications

• PhD in biology-related field; minimum 2 years of industry experience.
• Experience implementing screening and cell-based assay development.
• Fluency in English; Dutch and/or French are a plus.

Responsabilités

• Design and execute molecular and cell biology experiments to screen and characterize novel therapeutic candidates.
• Develop and execute cell-based assays to assess biological activity and mechanism of action of advanced therapeutic candidates.
• Work closely with the discovery team to support the characterization of new molecules.
• Troubleshoot technical challenges of the biology team and develop solutions to improve workflows and experimental outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records, documenting protocols, results and observations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including computational biology, structural biology, and protein engineering, to drive screening and preclinical programs forward.
• Contribute to technical documents such as study plans, study reports, protocols, and SOPs within the Quality Management System.
• You will use a variety of technologies: cell culture (cell lines and primary cells), reporter assays, flow cytometry, ELISA, Luminex, High content imaging.
• You will be an essential part of a close-knit, fast-paced company with the ambition of bringing a new class of therapies to patients worldwide.

Skills, Knowledge And Expertise

• PhD in Biology, Immunology, Biotechnology, or a related field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in industry.
• Demonstrated practical experience in screening and cell-based assay development.
• Experience with primary cells (PBMCs, B cells and T cells).
• Expertise in multiplex flow cytometry and/or cell imaging methods.
• Experience in high throughput screening is a plus.
• Self-motivated and enthusiastic personality with positive attitude, curiosity-driven mindset, and a passion for working in the laboratory and experience of first-hand scientific discovery.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize experiments, also of others.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within a result-driven team with diverse technical backgrounds.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative, fast-paced team.
• Enthusiasm to be part of a larger organization with a strong focus on rapidly moving projects forward and bringing new therapies to patients.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Prism.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken, Dutch and/or French are a plus.
