Job summary

Imec in Leuven, Belgium, seeks an experienced SCD/3D passive Device Characterization Engineer for Advanced Logic & Superconducting Devices. You will characterize semiconductor and superconducting components, analyze large datasets, and drive measurement workflows, collaborating across device, process-integration, and materials teams.

The role offers hands-on measurement, data analytics, and exposure to CMOS and superconducting platforms, with opportunities to grow in a multidisciplinary R&D

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in electrical engineering, microelectronics, applied physics, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute and interpret electrical characterization of semiconductor and superconducting devices.
• Study large wafer-level datasets containing junctions, wires, vias, transistors, and capacitors.
• Monitor process stability and identify drifts, wafer-to-wafer variations, yield limitations, and uniformity issues.
• Develop reproducible workflows using Python, JMP or similar tools.
• Correlate electrical results with process conditions and material data.
• Investigate how deposition, lithography, etching, CMP, and integration affect device performance.
• Perform measurements including four-probe and van der Pauw, I-V and C-V, leakage, dielectric breakdown.
• Work hands-on with measurement hardware such as SMUs, DMMs, probe stations.
• Use GDS layouts to verify structures being measured.
• Translate results into clear conclusions and recommendations.
• Prepare characterization reports and present findings to multi-disciplinary teams.
• Collaborate across projects and maintain efficient measurement/data workflows.
