Job summary

In4Matic seeks an experienced Senior SAP BASIS Engineer to join the technical services team. You will manage SAP S/4HANA, HANA, and ECC/CRM environments, oversee upgrades and migrations, and contribute to cloud and hybrid architectures.

You will coordinate across internal teams and external partners, ensuring governance, documentation, and knowledge transfer. On-site work is expected up to five days weekly.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of hands-on SAP BASIS and technical operations experience with S/4HANA and HANA (min 4 years).
• At least 2 years of practical SAP BTP administration experience.
• Experience with five SAP SaaS/cloud solutions including Datasphere and IAS/IPS with connectivity agents for high availability.
• Strong knowledge of hybrid SAP architectures, security, HA, DR, and end-to-end troubleshooting.
• Experience coordinating distributed/offshore SAP operations with solid documentation and knowledge transfer.
• Excellent analytical/problem-solving skills with clear communication to diverse stakeholders.
• Proficient in Dutch, French, and English: one language at C1, another at B2, and English at B2.
• Willingness to work on-site up to five days per week.

Function

We’re looking for an experienced Senior SAP BASIS Engineer to join our client’s technical services team and help ensure the stability, availability, security, and performance of a complex SAP landscape. You’ll play a key role in managing and evolving hybrid SAP environments, with a strong focus on SAP RISE, S/4HANA Private Cloud Edition (PCE), SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), and cloud-based SAP solutions. Combining deep technical expertise with a structured approach to governance and service reliability, you’ll coordinate technical activities across internal teams, SAP, and external partners while ensuring high-quality documentation, knowledge sharing, and a smooth transition to operational support teams.

Your Responsibilities

• SAP Technical Operations: Manage and optimize SAP environments across Linux and Windows, including SAP S/4HANA, HANA, and existing SAP ECC, CRM, and Solution Manager platforms. Oversee upgrades, patching, migrations, system copies and refreshes, monitoring, incident management, performance optimization, and SAP Fiori/Gateway/OData services.
• Cloud Platforms & Integration: Administer SAP BTP global accounts and subaccounts, entitlements, authorizations, and connectivity. Design, maintain, and troubleshoot services such as Cloud Connector, Destination and Connectivity Services, Integration Suite, API Management, Work Zone, and other relevant BTP capabilities. Support SAP Datasphere and its connectivity to SAP and non-SAP data sources, including the installation, configuration, and high-availability management of connectivity agents.
• Security & Hybrid Architecture: Maintain secure connectivity and identity management across cloud and on-premise environments, including SAP IAS/IPS, enterprise Single Sign-On (SSO), SAML 2.0, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and Principal Propagation. Manage SSL/TLS certificates, PSEs, keystores, and trust stores, while contributing to high-availability and disaster-recovery strategies and troubleshooting network dependencies involving DNS, proxies, firewalls, DMZs, and load balancing.
• Technical Coordination & Leadership: Work closely with SAP technical support teams, security specialists, architects, integration teams, management, and distributed operations partners. Drive technical problem-solving, root cause analysis, risk assessment, service improvements, operational governance, and lifecycle management. Provide clear technical advice, evaluate solution alternatives, maintain robust documentation and runbooks, and facilitate knowledge transfer to ensure sustainable operational excellence.

Your Profile

• At least 8 years of hands-on SAP BASIS and technical operations experience, including a minimum of 4 years working with SAP S/4HANA and HANA, and proven experience with SAP RISE/PCE and coordination with SAP Enterprise Cloud Services (ECS).
• At least 2 years of practical SAP BTP administration experience, covering multiple platform services, connectivity, and integration capabilities.
• Demonstrable experience with at least five SAP SaaS or cloud solutions, including SAP Datasphere and IAS/IPS, as well as Datasphere connectivity to SAP and non-SAP sources and the configuration of connectivity agents with redundancy or high availability.
• Strong knowledge of hybrid SAP architectures, enterprise authentication, security, certificate management, high availability, disaster recovery, and end-to-end technical troubleshooting.
• Experience coordinating or technically guiding distributed or offshore SAP operations teams, with a strong focus on documentation, operational procedures, escalation management, and knowledge transfer.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with the ability to make sound technical decisions and communicate recommendations clearly to diverse stakeholders.
• Professional proficiency in Dutch, French, and English: minimum C1 in one of the two national languages, B2 in the other, and B2 in English.
• Willingness to work on-site at our client’s offices for up to five days per week, depending on operational requirements.
