Quarteom seeks a Safety Officer to ensure safety considerations across projects, establish safety requirements, and coordinate safety reviews with Safety Authorities. The role involves assisting licensing processes and producing preliminary and final safety assessments.

Senior candidates will supervise safety studies and manage project teams. Requirements include a Master’s degree in Engineering, 3–5 years for junior or 10–15 years for senior general safety experience, and strong written safety

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering.
• Junior: 3 to 5 year experience in general safety.
• Senior profile: 10 to 15 year experience in general safety (engineering, explotation, etc)
• Experience in engineering conception, safety analysis, radiology calculations, equipment classification
• Good knowledge of Dutch or French, and English
• With critical and inquiring mind, dynamic, rigorous and pragmatic
• Able to write position papers and synthesis reports, able to write clear safety positions and argumentation
• Senior profile : able to manage a team, good listener and communicator capacity to develop personal contacts ; good facilitating skills, diplomatic
• With the capacity to assume responsibilities to take initiatives
• Able to work autonomously
• Willing to travel according to projects

Responsabilités

• Safety Officer function within projects : assure the proper consideration of safety aspects in studies/projects ; establish safety requirements, analyse and ensure compliance with safety requirements, organise safety reviews, contacts with Safety Authorities
• Assistance to the client’s licensing process, including the establishment of associated documents (preliminary and final safety assessment report)
• Safety analysis and assessment, e.g.: classification & qualification requirements with respect to safety functions and items important to safety, radiological consequences studies, internal and external hazards studies including definition of the load case, determination of PIE’s (postulated initiating events) and DBA’s (design basis accidents), statistical setpoint studies
• Supervise and coordinate Safety studies in support of the associated projectmanager (for Senior position)
