Proximus Global, in Brussels, seeks a senior Network Architect to own end-to-end network platforms and OSS solutions for global roaming and data core services.

You will lead architectures, design, testing and deployment across 4G/5G and roaming interfaces, collaborating with multiple teams to deliver secure, scalable connectivity solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years' experience in telecommunications or IT industry.
• Strong knowledge of telecom networks and roaming services.

Please note that this position is open on a permanent contract (no freelance) and is based in Brussels with an on-site presence required 2 to 3 days a week. Applicants must have the legal right to work in Belgium.

Join a highly skilled engineering team driving the evolution of global roaming and data core services. In this role, you'll take ownership of technical solutions from design to delivery, helping shape the next generation of connectivity services.

Responsabilities

• Lead the analysis, architecture, design and implementation of network platforms and OSS solutions supporting service fulfilment, provisioning, assurance and automation.
• Own technical projects end-to-end, from requirements gathering and solution design through testing, integration and production deployment.
• Evaluate network and OSS technologies, define target architectures and recommend platform evolutions based on business, operational and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with Product, Operations, IT and Engineering teams to deliver scalable, reliable and secure network solutions.
• Support vendor selection, RFI/RFP processes and technical assessments of third-party solutions.
• Produce technical designs, architecture documentation, impact assessments and implementation guidelines.
• Drive proof of concepts, technical trials and platform roadmap activities to validate new capabilities and technologies.
• Act as the technical authority for the assigned domain, providing expert guidance to internal stakeholders, partners and suppliers.

Technical Requirements

• Degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• At least 6 years of experience in the telecommunications or IT industry.
• Strong knowledge of telecommunications networks, mobile core technologies and international roaming services.
• Hands‑on expertise in mobile packet core technologies (4G/5G), including components such as SMF, UPF, PGW, SGW and roaming interfaces like S8 and N4.
• Solid understanding of roaming architectures and services, including VoLTE, IMS, Home Routing, Local Breakout (LBO) and roaming hub solutions.
• Knowledge of signalling and telecom protocols such as Diameter, SS7 and SCTP.
• Experience configuring, operating and troubleshooting telecom platforms, including monitoring and testing tools such as Splunk and SIGOS.
• Familiarity with Linux environments, scripting and automation (Bash, Python or similar).
• Exposure to cloud, containerisation and DevOps technologies (Kubernetes, OpenShift, AWS, CI/CD) is a plus.
• Experience in the international carrier or wholesale telecommunications industry is an advantage.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
