Job summary

Fastned Belgium is seeking a senior Retail Lead to drive the performance of our Belgian stations and kiosks. You will manage existing sites, coordinate with operators, municipalities, and internal teams, and lead the expansion of our Belgian retail footprint through new openings.

You will oversee site performance, supplier relationships, and commercial actions, with frequent travel across Flanders and Wallonia and regular collaboration with the Netherlands team to align on strategy and execution.

Qualifications

• Five years+ of multi-site retail, convenience, fuel retail, QSR or food service experience.
• Three years+ of area/territorial responsibility.
• Experience owning or managing P&L for multiple locations.
• Ability to read a periodic P&L and POS export and translate into actions.
• Experience managing third‑party operators, franchisees, dealers or tenants via contracts and KPIs.
• Delivered at least one opening, rebuild or refurbishment from start to finish including permits and handover.

Responsibilities

• Drive commercial performance by reviewing location-level P&Ls and POS data with operators and identifying growth actions.
• Shape the future pipeline by sourcing partners and supporting site selection for Belgian retail expansion.
• Deliver new openings from site brief to onboarding and opening day.
• Manage partners with regular performance reviews and contract renewals.
• Keep locations running by auditing operations, coordinating with Field Operations and suppliers.
• Maintain reporting and updates on performance and risks to senior stakeholders.

Fastned builds and operates fast-charging stations across Europe, giving drivers a reliable and enjoyable place to charge their electric vehicles.

Our Retail Business Unit adds shops and kiosks to our stations, helping turn charging time into a genuinely good stop, with quality coffee, food and clean facilities. Fastned develops and finances the units, while partners and specialised kiosk operators run them.

Belgium is our largest retail market, and it continues to grow. The international Retail team and our Belgium team of almost 40 colleagues are looking forward to meeting you!

What you will do

You will lead Fastned Retail in Belgium, from the performance of our existing locations to the opening of new shops and kiosks.

Our current portfolio includes partner-operated shops at Gentbrugge Noord, Gentbrugge Zuid and Galaxia, self-service kiosks operated by our kiosk partner, and the leased shop in Brecht. Several new kiosks and shops are planned to open through 2027.

As the main Fastned Retail contact in Belgium, you will work closely with operators, municipalities and suppliers, as well as colleagues in the international Retail team, Network Development, Construction, Field Operations, Finance and Legal.

• Drive commercial performance. Review location-level P&Ls and POS data with operators, monitor sales and margins, identify growth opportunities and agree clear actions to improve results.
• Shape the future pipeline. Source and qualify potential partners and tenants, provide retail input to site selection and support the growth of Fastned’s Belgian retail network.
• Deliver new openings. Own the retail workstream for new Belgian shops and kiosks, from site brief, permits and construction coordination through to operator onboarding and opening day.
• Manage our partners. Lead regular performance reviews, handle commercial and operational escalations, support contract renewals and changes, and manage operator transitions such as the planned switch at Knokke in early 2027.
• Keep locations running well. Visit sites, audit operational and brand standards, follow up on incidents and technical issues, and coordinate with Field Operations, Engineering and suppliers.
• Keep the business aligned. Maintain reporting, sales and pipeline trackers, share clear updates on performance and risks, join the weekly check-in with the Head of Retail and spend time with the wider Retail team in the Netherlands at least twice a month.

Your profile

The must haves:

• At least five years of experience in multi-site retail, convenience, fuel retail, QSR or food service.
• At least three years of experience with area, territory or regional responsibility.
• Experience owning or managing the P&L of multiple locations.
• The ability to read a periodic P&L and POS export independently, identify commercial opportunities and translate them into practical actions.
• Experience managing third-party operators, franchisees, dealers or tenants through contracts, KPIs and strong working relationships.
• Experience delivering at least one opening, rebuild or refurbishment from start to finish, including permits, contractors, utilities, handover and opening day.
• Fluency in Dutch, English. English is our working language, if you also speak french that's a great plus!
• Based in Belgium and able to travel extensively across Flanders and Wallonia.
• A valid driving licence.
• Willingness to travel to the Netherlands at least twice a month.
