Qualifications

• Doctorate level with a medical or clinical focus (MD, PharmD, PhD) or MS advanced science/healthcare degree with relevant clinical experience.
• Respiratory therapeutic experience, preferably in Belgium.
• 2+ years Medical Affairs experience and pre-launch readiness involvement.
• 2+ years' experience in clinical research or operations in respiratory and specialty settings.
• Experience in engaging in peer-to-peer scientific dialogue with medical professionals and decision makers.
• Experience in driving medical plans and engaging external HCPs, KOLs and external experts.

Job Purpose

Respiratory Emerging Therapeutics Medical Advisor North is a pivotal hybrid medical affairs role with an external focus that connects GSK to the healthcare community. This non-promotional, customer-oriented position focuses on advancing clinical practice across Belgium, improving patient outcomes and covers respiratory development programs. The Emerging Therapeutics Medical Advisor brings deep clinical and respiratory therapeutic expertise and market/landscape knowledge to engage with Healthcare Providers (HCPs) and account personnel, in alignment with GSK's medical strategies and plans.

Key objectives of the Emerging Therapeutics Medical Advisor include strategic and operational ownership of the local medical emerging therapeutics plan & objectives, engaging with various community and academic experts, facilitating scientific exchange, and serving as a medical resource. These scientific interactions aim to ensure that healthcare providers, and when relevant payers and other decision makers understand the unmet patient and healthcare needs, evolving treatment landscape and the benefit/risk profile of GSK medicines for their safe and appropriate use, improved patient outcomes and closure of gaps in unmet medical need.

The Emerging Therapeutics Medical Advisor role is crucial for identifying disease and product-related medical needs, ensuring the exchange of scientific knowledge, capturing and communicating medical insights or data gaps, and facilitating research to advance clinical practice & trials.

Key Responsibilities

• Leverage scientific expertise and market knowledge to identify and engage HCPs (including academic and community HCPs, Pharmacists, Physician Assistants, nurses, and other healthcare professionals) who may have educational needs and can provide insights needed to inform medical plans.
• Engage with HCPs and medical societies on emerging data, clinical trials, medical unmet needs, patient barriers to access, market dynamics, and educate on disease state and product information to advance GSK's pipeline.
• Develop and execute to the medical strategic and tactical plans by collecting and communicating medical insights throughout the product lifecycle and understanding the potential impact of these insights.
• Demonstrate stakeholder planning and management and appropriate identification, mapping, and planning of scientific engagements in territory with key hospitals and aligned with medical strategy.
• Support clinical trials by facilitating relevant medical activities and collaborating with Medical Affairs and Clinical Operations colleagues as well as drive evidence generation activities (ISS, SCS, ...).
• Collaborate with internal colleagues (e.g., Medical Affairs, market access, marketing, commercial, sales) to ensure a customer-centric approach aligned with GSK Standard Operating Procedures.
• Understand and address the unique medical needs and attributes of hospitals (e.g. educational needs, care pathways).
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of assigned therapeutic areas and GSK medicines to serve as a medical resource to both customers and internal colleagues. Understand the landscape and prepare to address the educational needs of customers.
• Adhere to GSK's Code of Conduct, policies and standards, and relevant ways of working documents. Ensure all activities are conducted in a compliant manner, reflecting GSK's commitment to transparency, respect, integrity, and patient focus.
• Execute all administrative responsibilities, training, and documentation requirements in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with Respiratory Medical teams as well across-enterprise projects and teams that support the overarching medical strategy and pre-launch readiness plans.

• Doctorate level with a medical or clinical focus (Pharm D, PHD, or MD) or MS- advanced science/clinical/healthcare related degree with relevant clinical, industry experience
• Respiratory Therapeutic Experience preferably in Belgium
• 2 + years Medical Affairs experience and pre-launch readiness involvement (preferably medical advisor experience).
• 2 + years' experience in clinical research or clinical operations in humans and has practical experience applying this knowledge in respiratory & specialty focused clinical setting.
• Experience & excellent communication engaging in peer-to-peer scientific dialogue with medical professionals and decision makers.
• Experience in driving medical plans.
• Experience identifying opportunities for medical engagement and developing scientific engagement goals.
• Experience developing relationships with external HCPs, KOLs, and external experts and with internal stakeholders and key decision makers.
• Fluency in Dutch and English (spoken and written) is required
