Qualifications

• Doctorate level with a medical or clinical focus (Pharm D, MD, or PhD) or MS with relevant clinical/oncology background.
• 2+ years Medical Affairs experience and pre-launch readiness involvement (preferably medical advisor experience).
• 2+ years' experience in clinical research or clinical operations in humans with oncology focus.
• Experience & excellent communication engaging in peer-to-peer scientific dialogue with medical professionals and decision makers.
• Experience in driving medical plans and engaging external HCPs, KOLs, and stakeholders.

Job Purpose

Oncology Emerging Therapeutics Medical Advisor is a pivotal hybrid medical affairs role with an external focus that connects GSK to the healthcare community. This non-promotional, customer-oriented position focuses on advancing clinical practice across Belgium, improving patient outcomes and covers all both oncology and hematology development programs. The Emerging Therapeutics Medical Advisor brings deep clinical and oncology or hematology therapeutic expertise and market/landscape knowledge to engage with Healthcare Providers (HCPs) and account personnel, in alignment with GSK's medical strategies and plans.

Key objectives of the Emerging Therapeutics Medical Advisor include strategic and operational ownership of the local medical emerging therapeutics plan & objectives, engaging with various community and academic experts, facilitating scientific exchange, and serving as a medical resource. These scientific interactions aim to ensure that healthcare providers, and when relevant payers and other decision makers understand the unmet patient and healthcare needs, evolving treatment landscape and the benefit/risk profile of GSK medicines for their safe and appropriate use, improved patient outcomes and closure of gaps in unmet medical need.

The Emerging Therapeutics Medical Advisor role is crucial for identifying disease and product-related medical needs, ensuring the exchange of scientific knowledge, capturing and communicating medical insights or data gaps, and facilitating research to advance clinical practice & trials. This role will be a national role and cover Belgium.

Key Responsibilities

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:

• Leverage scientific expertise and market knowledge to identify and engage HCPs (including academic and community HCPs, Pharmacists, Physician Assistants, nurses, and other healthcare professionals) who may have educational needs and can provide insights needed to inform medical plans.
• Engage with HCPs and medical societies on emerging data, clinical trials, medical unmet needs, patient barriers to access, market dynamics, and educate on disease state and product information to advance GSK's pipeline.
• Develop and execute to the medical strategic and tactical plans by collecting and communicating medical insights throughout the product lifecycle and understanding the potential impact of these insights.
• Demonstrate stakeholder planning and management and appropriate identification, mapping, and planning of scientific engagements in territory with key hospitals and aligned with medical strategy.
• Support clinical trials by facilitating relevant medical activities and collaborating with Medical Affairs and Clinical Operations colleagues as well as drive evidence generation activities (ISS, SCS, ...).
• Collaborate with internal colleagues (e.g., Medical Affairs, market access, marketing, commercial, sales) to ensure a customer‑centric approach aligned with GSK Standard Operating Procedures.

Basic Qualifications

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

• Doctorate level with a medical or clinical focus (Pharm D, PHD, or MD) or MS- advanced science/clinical/healthcare related degree with relevant clinical, industry and/or oncology experience (e.g., MSN, ANP, MS, MPH).
• Oncology experience specifically Lung and GI Cancer preferably in Belgium
• 2 + years Medical Affairs experienceand pre-launch readiness involvement (preferably medical advisor experience) .
• 2 + years' experience in clinical research or clinical operations in humans and has practical experience applying this knowledge in an oncology focused clinical setting.
• Experience & excellent communication engaging in peer-to-peer scientific dialogue with medical professionals and decision makers.
• Experience in driving medical plans.
• Experience identifying opportunities for medical engagement and developing scientific engagement goals.
