imec is seeking a MSc student for a master internship in Leuven to transform a lens-free MRI reconstruction pipeline into a GPU-accelerated, real-time software workflow. You will refactor notebooks into a maintainable Python package with basic testing and benchmarking, aiming for production-ready performance.

You will profile bottlenecks, pursue image-quality improvements, and connect the package to internal libraries and GUI, while documenting results and delivering a small demo.

Qualifications

• MSc student in computer science, electronics or a related field.
• Available for 3–6 months (confirm in application).
• Clear written and spoken English, good communication.

Responsabilités

• Conduct literature/background review on lens-free imaging reconstruction and existing pipeline.
• Refactor notebooks/scripts into a maintainable Python package with clean interfaces and basic testing.
• Benchmark and profile to identify bottlenecks and set speed targets.
• Contribute to image quality improvements and artifact reduction.
• Implement performance enhancements including GPU acceleration where appropriate.
• Assist integration with internal libraries and GUI.
• Prepare documentation and a concise results summary with a demo.
