Job summary

Médiane Benelux is seeking a System Engineer to join a multidisciplinary, multinational team focused on advanced signalling system architecture for rail transport. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure robust, safe, and optimized system designs.

Ideal candidates have an Engineering degree in electronics/telecom/automation, strong modelling skills (UML/SysML), and experience with safety-critical rail applications, ETCS or CBTC, and development methodologies.

Qualifications

Engineering degree in Electronics/Telecom/Automation/Electrical/Robotics or related field.
Experience with modelling methods (UML, SADT, SysML, Matlab).
Background in safety-critical systems (railways, automotive, aerospace).
Knowledge of railway signalling systems (ETCS or CBTC).

Responsibilities

Analyze, clarify, and confirm input requirements.
Perform conceptual design including system models and design studies.
Resolve system interfaces and ensure formal modelling and requirements writing.
Maintain and formalize system specifications and traceability.
Collaborate with RAM, safety, cybersecurity, software, and V&V teams to develop design concepts.
Conduct technical reviews with end-users and experts.
Interact with other system engineers to ensure alignment with architecture.
Keep abreast of technological advancements and contribute to process improvements.
Ensure system standardization and provide deployment tools and user documentation.
Support program external stakeholders, including customers and tenders.
