Tractebel, Liège, part of the ENGIE Group, seeks a Medior Engineer in Radiological Characterisation to join its Radiation Protection Competence Centre. You will lead radiological assessments, work with field teams, and support clients through advanced measurements and simulations.

Fluent in French and English with 5+ years in the nuclear sector, you will develop expertise, draft technical reports, and participate in technical bids and trainings.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in engineering or sciences (preferably in physics).
• 5+ years of experience in the nuclear sector.
• Fluent in French and English (Dutch an asset).
• Able to draft reports in French and English.
• Willing to work on the Tihange site up to 3 days per week.
• Autonomous with strong team spirit.
• Open to gain new competencies and to share them.
• Comfortable with IT tools (MS Office); knowledge of Python is an advantage.

Responsabilités

• Conduct radiological characterisation studies in line with client expectations.
• Monitor and support gamma spectrometry and dose rate equipment usage.
• Develop capabilities with codes like MicroShield, MCNP or RayXpert and in-house Python tools.
• Write technical specifications and follow procurement of measurement systems.
• Develop and maintain radiological characterisation expertise based on standards and references.
• Provide regular feedback to the team leader and collaborate across departments.
• Contribute to technical bids and deliver presentations/trainings.
• Collaborate with Project Management and Competence Centre teams to align on goals.
