Job summary

Cadence Design Systems is seeking an R&D Textile Composite Modeling Engineer in Mont-Saint-Guibert, Belgium. You will advance multiscale simulations for textile composites within the DIGIMAT suite, collaborating with a cross-disciplinary team to translate research into production-ready capabilities.

You will design models for woven, braided and 3D architectures, implement virtual manufacturing workflows, validate methods, and contribute to industrial deployments and customer validations.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent with research/industry experience in composites modeling.
• 5–8 years post-PhD/industry R&D in textile composites and multiscale simulation.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (C++, C#, Python).
• Experience with FE platforms and software development practices.

Responsibilities

• Design multiscale material models for textile composites within DIGIMAT.
• Develop virtual manufacturing workflows for processes like draping, infusion, RTM, and curing.
• Build and validate homogenization methods and continuum mechanics models.
• Create automated workflows for model generation and data correlation.
• Lead R&D projects from concept to deployment and customer validation.
• Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and software developers to integrate new capabilities.
• Engage with partners and customers to capture requirements and provide technical findings.
• Apply version control, containerisation, testing, and CI/CD to ensure release quality.
