Job summary

ABB Robotics is seeking a Robotics Engineer to contribute to modular robot-centric automation solutions at the Global Solution Center in Huizingen, Belgium. You will work within the R&D team on robot code development, control of peripherals, and on-site commissioning for pilots, collaborating with product and portfolio management.

Ideal candidates hold an engineering degree in electromechanics, electronics or automation, have experience in robot programming (Rapid preferred), and are fluent in

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in electromechanics, electronics or automation (or equivalent by experience).
• Strong mechanical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with robot programming; Rapid is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Translate market requirements into product requirements.
• Work out the functional design (Robot part of the system).
• Define automation components (hardware, sensors and actuators) for robot control.
• Carry out tests in Proof of Concept setups.
• Responsible for robot code development (ABB Robot Studio) and path planners.
• Coordinate supplier prototype testing and perform in-house simulation.
• Write documentation and provide training.
