Qplox engineering is seeking a Process Engineer to develop and optimize advanced materials and processes in our R&D environment. The role focuses on wet chemical processing, electrochemical deposition and thin-film techniques to translate material requirements into scalable solutions.

You will work with researchers and engineers, troubleshoot processes, document results and communicate findings to project teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 3–8 years of relevant experience in process engineering or materials development.
• Hands-on lab experience with wet chemical processing or electrochemical deposition.
• Experience with thin-film processing and materials development.
• Experience with sputtering, thermal evaporation, e-beam deposition, ALD or MLD.
• Cleanroom experience is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and collaborative reporting skills.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.

Develop and optimize advanced materials and processes for next-generation technology.

We are looking for a Process Engineer with hands-on experience in wet chemical processing, electrochemical deposition, thin-film deposition and materials development to join an advanced R&D environment.

In this role, you will work at the intersection of materials science, chemistry, process engineering and advanced manufacturing, developing and optimizing processes that translate material requirements into robust and scalable solutions.

What you’ll do

• Execute and optimize wet chemical and electrochemical processes for advanced materials and functional coatings.
• Develop and improve chemical and electrochemical deposition processes for surface engineering and materials applications.
• Support thin-film deposition using technologies such as sputtering, thermal evaporation, e-beam deposition, ALD and MLD.
• Analyze process performance, identify technical challenges and proactively communicate risks, limitations and improvement opportunities.
• Work closely with researchers and multidisciplinary engineering teams to translate material requirements into robust process solutions.
• Contribute to process development, optimization and troubleshooting in an advanced R&D environment.
• Explore and implement new processing methods, tools and characterization techniques.
• Document results and communicate technical findings effectively to project teams and stakeholders.

What you bring

• Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or a related technical field.
• 3–8 years of relevant experience in process engineering, materials development, chemical processing or a similar role.
• Hands-on laboratory experience with wet chemical processing and/or electrochemical deposition is essential.
• Practical experience with thin-film processing and materials development.
• Experience with techniques such as sputtering, thermal evaporation, e-beam deposition, ALD or MLD is highly valuable.
• Experience working in a cleanroom environment is a plus.
• Solid understanding of the relationship between chemistry, materials, process conditions and device performance.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a structured approach to process development and troubleshooting.
• Strong willingness to learn and adopt new technologies, processing techniques and characterization methods.
• Excellent communication, collaboration and technical reporting skills.
