Job summary

Rolls-Royce Power Systems in Belgium seeks a Quality Controller to ensure compliance of machines and equipment, validate control plans, and manage non-conformities. You will perform visual and dimensional controls, including 3D metrology, and coordinate with production to maintain quality standards.

Ideal candidates have a technical Bachelor's degree, 3–5 years in industry, and proficiency in English/French. Strong communication, autonomy, and rigorous attention to detail are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with a technical orientation (mechanics, electro-mechanics, electricity, etc.).
• 3 to 5 years of experience in the industrial sector.
• Experience in a Quality Control department is an asset.
• Knowledge of power generation systems.
• Knowledge of machining techniques (3D, metrology) and control tools is an asset.
• Be autonomous in the function, dynamic and proactive.
• English (intermediate level) / French.
• Good written and verbal communication.
• Rigorous.
• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel).

Responsibilities

• Carry out controls (visual and dimensional including 3D measuring machine).
• Carry out controls at subcontractors.
• Check specifications to validate quality and adapt control plans.
• Maintain a list of defects, their criticality and acceptability.
• Propose adaptations on test frequency and type based on issues.
• Manage documents used by production and follow up corrective actions.
• Raise awareness and inform operators of deviations.
• Formulate proposals for improvements in controls.
• Participate in non-conformities management (8D, 5 Why's) and traceability.
• Communicate investigation results to concerned persons and monitor actions.
• Carry out traceability searches and stock analysis.
• Participate in quarantine management if necessary.
• Perform quality checkout (Overhaull, project) and ensure conformity before shipment.
• Ensure metrology follow-up of Quality Laboratory Control instruments.
• Support metrology and measurements for Overhauls.

Tasks & responsibilities

The activities can be adapted according to the changing needs and organization of the company.

The Quality Controller works in collaboration with the various departments and according to needs.

The activities consist to :

Carry out controls

• Carry out controls (visual and dimensional including 3D measuring machine)
• Carry out controls at subcontractors

Management of control plans (incoming goods)

• Check specificities in order to validate the Quality and adapt control plan
• Maintain a list of defects, their criticality, and their acceptability
• Propose adaptations on the frequency and type of tests to be performed based on the issues encountered

Managing the documents used by the production

• Check that the controls are done
• Follow up corrective actions in case of failure
• Raise awareness and inform operators of deviations
• Formulate proposals for improvement in the controls to be carried out

Participate in the management of non-conformities (internal, external and suppliers)

• Participate in working groups (support of the Quality Engineer) by controlling parts in order to determine the causes of a non-conformity according to the methodologies in place (8D, 5 Why's, ...)
• Communicate the results of the investigations to the persons concerned
• Monitor the implementation of actions resulting from analyses
• Carry out traceability searches
• Analyse stocks if necessary
• Participate, if necessary, in the management of the quarantine zone.

Perform Quality check-out (Overhaull, project, ...)

• Ensure the conformity of the machines and their equipments before shipment (closure of actions to be carried out before shipment, check of completed documents, conformity with customer requirements, ....)

Ensure the follow-up of the metrology of the Quality Laboratory Control instruments.

Support metrology and measurements for Overhaulls activity.

Profile

Education

• Bachelor's degree with a technical orientation (mechanics, electro-mechanics, electricity, etc.)

Experience

• 3 to 5 year’s experience in the industrial sector
• A man of the field, persevering and a good teacher
• A first experience in a Quality Control department is an asset
• General knowledge of power generation systems
• Knowledge of machining techniques (3D, metrology, …) and control tools is an asset
• Be autonomous in the function, dynamic and proactive
