Black Pen Recruitment is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager (IT/Software) based in Brussels, Belgium. You will integrate with the Development team and work closely with a major client IT team on site.

The role is full-time and on-site, with EU candidate eligibility only. The ideal candidate has a university IT degree and at least 15 years of IT experience, with deep expertise in manual and automated testing, data quality checks, and test automation across Agile projects.

Qualifications

• University degree in IT with extensive IT experience.
• Excellent experience with manual and automation testing.
• Experience in test data preparation and data quality checks.
• Minimum 3 years with test automation tools/techniques and Agile/Sprint methods.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Proven experience with WebdriverIO, Selenium or Protractor.
• Familiarity with Zephyr for JIRA and SOAPUI.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsabilités

Quality Assurance Manager (Information Technology/Software) - Our client, a leading Software, Information and Communication Technologies company, operates internationally (Athens, Brussels, Luxembourg, Copenhagen, Stockholm, London, Nicosia, Hong-Kong, Valetta, etc.). The company provides IT services to government institutions, multinational corporations, public administrations and academic institutes.

Role Overview

Our client currently has a vacancy for a Quality Assurance Manager fluent in English, based in Belgium. The role may be performed at the company’s premises or on site at customer premises. In the initial assignment, the successful candidate will be integrated into the Development team and closely cooperate with a major client IT team on site.

Qualifications

• University degree in IT combined with relevant IT professional experience of 15 years;
• Excellent experience with manual and automation testing;
• Experience in test data preparation;
• At least 3 years of experience with test automation technologies, tools and techniques;
• At least 3 years of experience in working in Agile/Sprint based IT project methodologies;
• At least 1 year of experience with data quality checking when such data is stored in databases and/or data lakes using SQL or similar languages;
• In-depth experience with a tool for web application testing such as WebdriverIO, Selenium or Protractor;
• Excellent knowledge of a Test Management and Defect Tracking Tool, such as Zephyr for JIRA;
• Knowledge of an API testing tool, such as SOAPUI;
• Knowledge of data-driven solutions testing (data warehouse, data lakes, data mining, etc.);
• Knowledge of relational database management systems such as MS SQL, Oracle;
• Knowledge of public cloud technologies;
• One of the following certifications is required: ISTQB Specialist Level Test Automation Engineer or ISTQB Specialist Level Test Acceptance Testing or ISTQB Advanced Level Test Analyst;
• Excellent command of the English language

Responsibilities

• Definition of test plans and test cases and construction of test scenarios and scripts;
• Preparation and maintenance of test data;
• Execution of tests and test reporting;
• Enable the transition to an automated approach;
• Evaluate tools and technology for automation best fit to the project within the DevSecOps approach;
• Create an approach and methodology for building a test automation architecture;
• Design, prepare and monitor automated tests;
• Design and develop (new or modified) test automation solutions that meet the business needs;
• Create automated test reporting and metrics collection;
• Support business stakeholders during acceptance testing.
