Imec in Belgium seeks a QA Engineer for Manufacturing Applications to validate core manufacturing software used in semiconductor research and pilot-line operations. You will collaborate with users, engineers, and process experts to ensure reliability and operational readiness.

You will design and execute tests across functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end scenarios, document results, track defects, and support Go/No-Go decisions while driving continuous quality improvements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in application testing for manufacturing/CIM/MES environments.
• ISTQB certification is a bonus, but mindset matters more.
• 5+ years of QA engineering experience.
• Fluency in English.
• Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills.

Responsabilités

QA Engineer – Manufacturing Applications

What you will do

As a QA Engineer, you will ensure that the manufacturing applications supporting imec’s world-class research and production environment are reliable, intuitive, and ready for operation.

• Drive application quality from concept to deployment by preparing and executing functional, integration, regression, end-to-end, and user acceptance tests.
• Partner with users, engineers, and developers to understand business processes, validate requirements, and ensure solutions meet operational needs.
• Provide clear quality visibility by documenting test results, reporting quality metrics, managing defects, and delivering objective evidence to support deployment and Go/No-Go decisions.
• Enable successful application adoption through user validation, training support, documentation, and readiness assessments.
• Champion continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues, refining testing practices, and helping raise quality standards across the organization.

Who you are

You are a quality-driven professional who enjoys bridging technology and operations and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

• Strong expertise in software testing methodologies, including test planning, test design, requirements traceability, defect management, risk-based testing, and user acceptance testing.
• A solid understanding of quality assurance best practices, with the ability to produce clear test documentation, execution reports, and objective quality assessments that support deployment decisions. If you hold an ISTQB certification, that’s a great bonus, but your mindset matters more.
• At least 5 years of experience in application testing or QA engineering, preferably for operational, manufacturing, CIM, or MES-related systems. Experience in a manufacturing, semiconductor, or process-industry environment is a strong asset.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, combined with a proactive mindset and the ability to collaborate effectively with both business users and technical teams. Fluency in English is essential.
