Huxley is seeking a Back-end Developer to design, build, and maintain secure, scalable backend systems for a digital health platform in Belgium. You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver high-quality solutions with real-world impact.

Key tech includes Python, Django REST Framework, PostgreSQL, and cloud/workflow tooling. You will contribute to architecture, performance, and data security in a fast-paced, cross-functional team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development experience.
• 2+ years of hands-on Python experience.
• Strong Django and REST API experience.
• Good knowledge of PostgreSQL and software architecture principles.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Fluent in French and English.

About the Role

We are looking for a Back-end Developer to help scale a fast-growing digital health platform. You will design, build, and maintain secure, reliable, and scalable backend systems that support healthcare professionals and patients. Working closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality solutions with real-world impact.

Tech Stack

Python, Django, Django REST Framework, Celery, PostgreSQL, GCP (Cloud Run), Docker, Terraform, Datadog, Sentry, GitHub

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services and REST APIs
• Build integrations with third-party platforms and partners
• Improve application performance, scalability, and reliability
• Contribute to technical architecture and best practices
• Ensure security and compliance of sensitive data (HIPAA/GDPR)

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in backend development
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Python
• Strong experience with Django and REST APIs
• Good knowledge of PostgreSQL and software architecture principles
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Fluent in French and English

Nice to Have

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Interest in DevOps and/or Cybersecurity
• Previous startup experience
• Exposure to healthcare or regulated environments
