OneTech Solutions BV seeks an experienced Senior Python Developer to design, build, and harden Python-based backend services for an energy-sector initiative. You will work on an internal monitoring platform with health checks, synthetic tests, and alerting, primarily using Python.

You will collaborate with Software, Product, Data Engineering, IT Operations, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure solutions and improve code quality and automation across the stack.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT/CS/Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of professional software development experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on Python development experience.
• Experience with Python backend frameworks (FastAPI or similar).
• Hands-on experience with Pydantic and AsyncIO.
• Strong SQL knowledge; MSSQL and/or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with RabbitMQ and event-driven architectures.
• Knowledge of software design patterns, data structures, and scalability.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Selenium.
• Familiarity with IT security in critical environments.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Mentor and lead other developers.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Python Developer to join a major technology initiative within the energy sector.

You will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining resilient Python-based solutions supporting business-critical applications. The main assignment focuses on an internal monitoring platform responsible for application health monitoring, synthetic and log-based checks, alerting, and operational notifications.

The platform's monitoring and alerting engines, together with the associated monitoring scripts, are primarily developed in Python.

You will collaborate closely with software development teams, Product Owners, Business Analysts, Data Engineers, Architects, IT Operations, and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and optimize Python-based applications and backend services.
• Contribute to the evolution and reliability of monitoring and alerting solutions.
• Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Develop robust, scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions.
• Apply software engineering best practices covering code quality, automated testing, security, and CI/CD.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex technical issues.
• Work closely with DevOps and Data Engineering teams on integration and performance.
• Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior developers.
• Contribute to legacy-code modernization and refactoring initiatives.
• Support service requests and collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 6+ years of professional software development experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on Python development experience.
• Strong Python backend development skills, preferably with FastAPI or similar frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with Pydantic.
• Experience with AsyncIO.
• Strong SQL knowledge.
• Experience with MSSQL and/or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with RabbitMQ.
• Strong understanding of service-based architectures and event-driven systems.
• Good knowledge of software design patterns, data structures, algorithms, scalability, and maintainability.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Selenium.
• Strong understanding of IT security requirements, ideally within critical infrastructure or similarly regulated environments.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Ability to mentor developers and provide technical leadership.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
