ALSTOM Gruppe is seeking a Verification & Validation engineer to contribute to major developments by implementing V&V activities that meet quality, cost, and delivery targets. You will detail and perform in-house activities with cross-functional teams, coordinating with Test & Commissioning for seamless integration and results.

In this role you will define verification methodologies, write test plans, and report progress to the V&V Manager.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in engineering or scientific topics.
• Fluent in English.
• At least 2 years in relevant positions in complex environments.

Responsabilités

• Contribute to the definition of the Project Verification and Validation strategy in the V&V Plan.
• Define verification methodologies for deliverables requested from V&V strategy.
• Define test plans and test descriptions for in-house activities; liaise with PrCOM for exported tests.
• Perform and report on allocated verification, integration and test activities.
• When Safety is involved, share results with Safety Assurance Manager for safety demonstration.
• Interface with experts in other departments to align on V&V activity methodologies.
• Represent Alstom to customers or partners, providing overviews of test progress, risks and opportunities.

JOB TITLE & JOB CODE

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

• Take part to major developments by proving that the design is fit for its intended use, through implementation and execution of Verification, Integration and Test activities, fitting the targets in terms of Quality, Cost and Delivery


• Detail and perform all the in-house activities in the scope of the V&V team, and interface experts delegated in other departments. Cooperate tightly with Test & Commissioning to ensure seamless integration and alignment between in-house and on-site testing activities and results. Interface with design teams to share and detail the results of V&V activities


• Agree with Verification & Validation Manager on strategy, scheduling and budget, and share progress, results and issues during execution

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Key accountabilities:

• Contribute to the definition of the Project Verification and Validation strategy in the V&V Plan, and act proactively for its implementation


• Define verification methodology for selected deliverables, when requested from V&V strategy


• Define test plans and test descriptions for in-house activities. Liaise with PrCOM for exported tests


• Perform and report on allocated verification, integration and test activities


• When Safety is involved, share and justify the results with Safety Assurance Manager to feed safety demonstration


• Interface with experts in other department to align on selected V&V activity methodology


• Represent Alstom in front of customers or partners, for instance to provide overview of test progress, issues, risks and opportunities


• Specify, procure, develop, setup and configure assets such as testbenches and instrumentation


• Provide data to maintain applicable KPIs


• Provide valuable feedback for REX sessions and continuous improvement


• Manage configuration and change management cycle related with V&V activities (simulation configuration, anomaly tracking, etc.)


• Follow-up with T&C for tests exported to site execution

Performance measurements

• DQI (Delivery Quality Indicator)


• CPI (Coverage Progress Indicator)


• Cooperation and support to KPI Root Cause Analysis

MAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCES

Educational Requirements

Mandatory:

• Graduated


• Foreign language: English, full proficient use


• Master’s degree in engineering or scientific topics

Experience

Mandatory:

• Good analytical skill is required


• Understanding and experience in Software coding


• Knowledge of at least one Alstom platform


• Knowledge of more than one Alstom platform


• Design and data preparation processes understanding


• Engineering and system background

At least 2 years in relevant positions (systems / sub-systems integration, embedded equipment, electrotechnical product development) in a highly complex and normative environment (railway signaling, aerospace, defense, nuclear) would be a major asset
