Job summary

The stow group is seeking a Project Manager SILO to lead on-site a wide range of international vessel (SILO) projects in line with stow methodology. You will act as the single point of contact for clients, subcontractors and internal teams, coordinating preparation, planning and mobilization of resources.

The role requires a Master’s in Industrial or Civil Engineering, 5–10 years experience (2–5 considered for more junior candidates), and fluency in Dutch, English, French or German.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Industrial or Civil Engineering.
• 5–10 years of experience in a similar role, or 2–5 years for junior candidates.
• Fluent in Dutch, English, French and/or German.
• Willingness to travel abroad ~50% per week.
• Communicative and hands-on; able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Project preparation and follow-up, acting as SPOC for the client, subcontractors and the stow team.
• Supervising on-site execution, monitoring progress and quality, and ensuring QSHE compliance.
• Contract management, including handling variations and delay notifications.
• Financial follow-up and administration, including budget tracking and invoicing.

Job Description

The Project Manager SILO is responsible “from A to Z” for managing, organizing and executing on site a wide spectrum of (inter)national (complex) SILO projects in accordance with stow methodology.

Work preparation & project follow-up

• Is the SPOC (Single Point Of Contact) for the projects assigned to him/her and towards the client, the sub-contractors and the stow team.
• Assessing the operational, technical and financial feasibility of the project and anticipate if applicable
• Attends kick-off meetings, technical/site meetings, commercial meetings and planning meetings as well as site inspections, with the client or with internal stow departments if needed.
• Ensuring that all engineering and preparatory activities are undertaken
• Responsible for visiting the site, setting up a detailed project planning and checking all the requirements for mobilization of equipment and resources.
• Communicates clearly concerning the execution and progress of the project.

Supervision operational activities

• Willingness to travel to sites (50% of time).
• Monitoring the progress and quality of the project, identifying deviations and correcting (or initiate corrections) where necessary.
• Managing operational staff and subcontractors regarding the project execution. Supervises the safe execution of the project on site and observes the QSHE regulations and administration.
• Supervises the assembly methods and checks the quality of the delivered materials.

Contract management

• Claim management – Identifying contract variations and/or delay notifications
• Ensuring variations are communicated to and negotiated with the client according to the contractual requirements.

Financial follow up & administration

• Responsible for budget follow up and daily cost management, in order to draft periodical progress reports and initiates invoicing.
• Responsible for checking and approving all incoming project related invoices
• Looks for commercial opportunities, additional billable services or other ways to improve the financial revenue of the assigned projects.

Qualifications

Your profile

• You have a Master’s Degree in Industrial or CivilEngineering.
• You have 5 to 10 years of experience in a similar role.
  As we are recruiting for two positions, we are also open to candidates with a more junior level of experience, typically 2 to 5 years.
• You are fluent in Dutch, English, French and/or German.
• You are willing to travel abroad,approximately 50% per week.
• You are communicative andhands-on.
• You can work independently.
