The role requires strong governance, planning and risk management capabilities, with a focus on delivering complex initiatives within a banking environment.

Project Manager - Core Banking Transformation | Brussels (Hybrid)

I am currently looking for an experienced Project Manager to join a major banking transformation programme focused on modernising and replacing legacy core banking platforms.

This is a long-term strategic initiative within the Business Lending domain, where you will play a key role in delivering complex transformation projects and helping shape the future technology landscape of the bank.

The Role:

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading end-to-end projects within a large-scale core banking transformation programme. You will coordinate multiple teams, manage critical dependencies, mitigate risks, and ensure successful delivery of strategic initiatives.

Working closely with Business Analysts, IT teams, stakeholders, and programme leadership, you will drive projects from inception through to implementation, ensuring predictable and high-quality delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end delivery of core banking transformation projects
• Manage project planning, scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and dependencies
• Identify issues early and implement mitigation actions to keep projects on track
• Provide clear project reporting and delivery forecasting
• Coordinate stakeholders across business and technology teams
• Manage dependencies both within and outside your department
• Challenge assumptions, elevate risks when necessary, and drive decision-making
• Work closely with Business Analysts, developers, architects, and programme managers
• Ensure successful migration from legacy systems to modern target platforms

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Project Manager within complex environments
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and technical dependencies
• Experience working closely with Business Analysts and technology teams
• Strong risk management and project governance capabilities
• Comfortable challenging stakeholders and driving accountability
• Excellent planning, forecasting, and delivery management skills
• Previous experience within banking or financial services is highly desirable
• Business Analysis or Functional Analysis experience is considered a plus
